The Cause of Christ
"...for the Son of man has come to seek
and save that which was lost" Luke 19:10 "Jesus is Lord!"
is the absolute truth in the purest form. It is "Truth" the world and/or the opposing spirits of the world can not
stand. (Read Acts 4) Yet when we go bringing the Kingdom, sharing the Love of the Father we are walking in that
Truth thus carrying on or maintaining the "Cause of Christ." Jesus said in
John 18:37 : "For this cause I was born and for this cause
I have come into the world that I should bear witness to the truth."
Let me encourage you and me! Whatever concerns
or cares we are currently facing, that may feel "big" or overwhelming to us, will become "small" as we
"live" the Word. I have mostly compiled for us, today, numerous scriptures that remind us of "The
Cause of Christ". When we belong to Him; when we have been washed in His Blood and have become
partakers of the New Covenant, His Cause becomes Our Cause. We are
to have the Mind of Christ.
Philippians
2:5-11 says: Let this
mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with
God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made
in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross. With all Humility and Love, Jesus
was on a mission to do the Will of the Father who sent Him. He continually reminded us in the Gospel of John that He was to be about His Father's business and it was the Father
that sent Him. This, my brothers and sisters, is our reason for being! We were created in the image of God, born of His Spirit, for the Glory and purposes of God, Our Father.
I've been "pessimistically" accused of being a literal person; bordering
on naïve because when someone says something to me I take it to heart or take them at their word. (Sometimes verbatim; Yea, word for word!) I must admit, this characteristic
has caused me to misunderstand things and people every now and then, but it has also, periodically caused me to be
grossly misunderstood! On the other hand, when it comes to the things of God, because of my "literal" flaw,
I have a childlikeness that causes me to take the Lord at His Word! So, what am I saying? When the Lord says to
do something, I take it literally!
I
don't know where you've been commissioned to Go; or how you've been "formed" or "structured"
to be who you are created to be; but All, who are disciples
of Christ, have assignments (specified tasks) and Divine appointments!! Now, we believers love to use and quote the
Word of God for the "things of this world," to satisfy our flesh and/or earthly needs; you know that house, car
or even that outfit we want; but how about we go ahead and "do" the Word (As our brother James admonished) to
ask for what is far greater! So I say to you in the Words of Our Savior: Ask, and it shall
be given; seek, and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone
who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Luke 11:9-10 He'll reveal those things He
gave you "life"to do; those things you were born AND "Born Again" to do; and you
will have the heart or "will", zeal, time, moment, season, and the wisdom to be who you are To Be.
All for the "Cause of Christ". With Love, Cynthia L. Thomas C |
And
when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
---- These twelve Jesus sent out Matthew 10:1, 5 These twelve Jesus sent out...
Matthew 10:1, 5
Then Jesus came and spoke to them saying, "All authority has
been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing
them In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you, always,
even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 "You know that those who are considered rulers over
the Gentiles Lord it over them and their great ones exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever
desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For
even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Mark
10:42-45 And He said the them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." Mark 16: 15-16 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through
accompanying signs. Amen Mark 16:20 "No one, having put His hand to the plow,
and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom
of God." Luke 9:62 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others
also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.
Then he said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore Pray the Lord of the
harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves."
Luke 10:1-3 "And heal the sick who are there, and say to them, 'The Kingdom of the God has come near
you.' Luke 10:9 Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the
Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, "and that repentance and remission of sins should
be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." Luke 24: 46-47
When
Jesus heard it, He said to them; "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Mark 2:17 "Then
the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world: "for I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was
a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came
to Me. Matthew 25:34-36
